Privacy Policy

• Your account: email address, and either a hashed password or the fact that you signed in with Google. We never store your password itself.
• What you record: loans, repayments, interest, charges, and the borrowers you add — including any name, email, phone number or note you enter about them.
• Sessions: sign-in tokens for the devices you are signed in on, so you do not have to log in constantly.
• Anything you send us: feedback submitted in the app, and emails you write to us.

We do not ask for or store bank details, card numbers, or government ID. No payment ever passes through LoanCompass.

Borrower details are entered by the lender who added them, not by the borrower. If someone has recorded you as a borrower and you want that corrected or removed, ask them first — it is their record. You can also write to us at the address below.

• Running the product: showing your loans, balances and schedules
• Signing you in and keeping your session alive
• Sending due-date reminders, verification and password-reset emails
• Answering your support messages and acting on your feedback
• Understanding roughly how the site is used, so it can be improved

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

Running LoanCompass means a few other companies handle data on our behalf. They only process it to provide their service to us:

• Vercel — hosting the site and privacy-friendly usage analytics
• Neon — the managed PostgreSQL database your records are stored in
• Resend — delivering the emails we send you
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with a Google account

Beyond these, we share data only when you ask us to, or where the law requires it.

Traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are not readable by us. Access to the production database is restricted to the people who maintain the service.

No system is perfectly secure, and LoanCompass is a small early-access product. Please weigh that before recording anything unusually sensitive in a note field.

We use browser storage to keep you signed in. That is a functional necessity, not tracking. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell browsing data.

Your records stay for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your account, borrowers and loans, except where we are legally required to keep something longer. Backups roll off on their own schedule shortly afterwards.

You can ask for a copy of your data, have inaccurate information corrected, or have your account and its records deleted. Email us and we will action it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
